The spiral cereus (Cereus forbesii cv. Spiralis) is a shrubby species, resembling a mutated form of Cereus forbesii. It’s typically trunkless, with tall columnar stems branching in a candelabra-like pattern. Stems, reaching 2-4 meters in height (can grow up to 5 meters), have a waxy surface and 10-12 cm diameter, with five to nine widely-spaced ribs. While initially imported to Europe around 1980, the original clone featured grey stems coated in dense pruina (A white powdery bloom) and short spines. Most specimens now available are seed-grown, often cross-pollinated with presumed variants, displaying darker blue-green hues with longer spines. Confusion persists about its true identity. Despite this, it is a prolific bloomer, yielding large purple fruits upon pollination, though it is self-sterile.

Purchased this cactus about a month ago. LOVED the drop shipping cost being included in the price, that is what motivated me to make a purchase and it’s what will keep me coming back. My cereus forbessi cv spiralis arrived in a timely manner, well packaged and a beautiful specimen. No signs of pests or travel damage. I have just completed my second order and will definitely purchase again.
